Industrial ironing machines are a type of laundry machinery and form part of laundry room ironing equipment; they are also known as flatwork ironers. They are primarily used in hotels, hospitals, sauna and leisure centres, and industrial and mining enterprises for the ironing and drying of textiles such as bed sheets, duvet covers, tablecloths and towels. Industrial ironing machines are primarily available in three types: electrically heated, steam-heated and gas-heated. Their rollers are typically made of stainless steel, which offers a certain degree of corrosion resistance, good safety and a relatively long service life. The ironing speed can be adjusted according to the thickness of the fabric and the steam supply; multi-roller ironing machines utilising computerised variable-frequency control can achieve high-speed ironing operations. The equipment utilises a differential flexible feeding system, which ensures excellent ironing results, and is fitted with leak-proof and corrosion-resistant technology, as well as protective devices. Industrial ironing machines can be categorised by model into single-roll and multi-roll types.
